Ok..there is a little gap but in the meanwhile i didn’t do anything with the site. I stumbled it and the first day it brought me 92 visits. The days after that the visits dried up. But yesterday something important happend…Google indexed the site and sebd me the first real search visitor.

Yesterday was also the first day this site made money. $0.41 It’s not much but it shows that this site does have potential. I had 2 views of adsense ads and 3 clicks which brought in this $0.41 Not bad….but i always get a creepy feeling when i get a 100%+ clicks. This happens when 1 person on your site clicks more then 1 adsense ad. If your visitor count is low it will result in a Page CTR of more then 100%. I am sure this triggers some sort of alarm at Google if it happens to often. I hope to get the visits up soon when more pages are indexed and this happens not that much.

But the CTR on the sites i made with the same template is high. It looks a bit like thisgoogle.jpg
I used a big rectangle and no borders(in the image only for making clear where the ad is). colors of the link changed to the colors of my site and the text and url the same as the text. The bottom part of ads by google is below the fold when you use 800px screen. Of course it depends also on how many toolbars you use but on most it’s below the fold. And as Google displays relevant ads to the content it looks like a part of the site.
The CTR is above 20% but that is up to now and as i didn’t had a large number of visitors on these sites the numbers can change.

Tasks for the comming days will be collecting more inbound links. I’ll be looking for blogs that allow comments with no “no-follow” and are about the topic of my site and maybe write a press release. Never done that but heared it can give great results

Ok…yesterday i did some promotion on the site. I created 2 ads on USfreeads, bookmarked the site using onlywire.com and stumbled the site.

I had 92 visitors yesterday to this site. Mostly from stumbleupon. Also 4 people came thru my ads on USfreeads.

My main reason tho of posting on usfreeads and stumbleing it is to get Google and the other searchengines in. I haven’t seen the Googlebot but Yahooslurp has found the site and i hope it will revisit it today.

I haven’t made any money on this site yesterday but that is something i expect to happen at the end of this week or starting next week. Getting people from stumble upon is great to get things going but moneywise they are not buyers ..more surfers

I am building a lot of sites at this moment. I thought it might be a great idea to do a casestudy.
The Goal is taking a brand new site and make $2.00 a day from it.
to make it a bit more difficult …i want this result within 30 days.

I will post every day with the results and what i have done. I will not disclose the url as i also want to show you how many visitors i get on that new site. I registered the domain last week and i added the content last weekend. i haven’t done any promotion yet.

Yesterday there was some spider looking at the site. Awstats lists it has unknown spider so i have no idea where it’s coming from. Income is zero at this moment.

The site is a product site and not an nformation site. The products are pulled from the merchant site using a datafeed. In total the site has 14.000 pages. There no pages indexed in Google at this moment.

Today’s tasks:

* Place ads at USfreeads
* Interlink from other sites of mine
* submit to directories
* bookmark it at social bookmarking sites
* Stumble upon it

Usfreeads only works when you have a product related site. It’s owned by Google and gets a lot of Google Love. As this site is a product site i can freely place classified ads. I do have a premium account at them which costs me $9 a month but that amout i got back rather fast.

I have more sites in the same niche. So i am going to use those to get the first links and help to get the site spidered by the search engines. Plus as they are related o this site it will hopefully help in the rankings.

It looks like i have a long list of things to do but … there is something called automation. Some things should be dome by hand and others can be automated. Submitting to directories is old school SEO but it still works. Yes directories are getting their but kicked at the moment in terms of PR but they are still great places to get links with your desired keywords pointing in your direction. I use SEO elite (well my wife does that part of the work) and Lazy SEO. Lazy SEO is an automated subimission tool. For this site i will do the Lazy SEO first …

Social bookmarks are a great source of visitors and getting links to your site. I use Onlywire.com to bookmark sites in one click at 30 social bookmarking sites. Stumbleupon is an other favorite of mine. My experience is that i get about 100 - 200 vistors when i stumble a site. What i do is use a general category and tags and not to specific. Fi if the site is about golf courses in Florida i will tag the page with words like Golf, Florida, golf course, golf courses.
