Making Money with Blogs
It’s been too long that I have done anything here at edynas.com but that didn’t ment that I wasn’t working. I made a promise to myself to make more posts here and altho it’s late and I am going away for a week tomorrow I just wanted to share something.
I have been working for myself for nearly 3 years and love the freedom it gave me. But I also work hard and I have to confess not smart….you see I still trade hours for money. My main business is making personalized mugs which we sell because of our website. I have no budget for ads and do not send out flyers, brochures or whatever. We only get customers because of our rankings in the search engines. It’s great but it’s not what we want as with many businesses we started out with something and from 1 thing came an other which let to our current situation…call it dreaming but what I have in mind is traveling a lot and seeing places all over the world without worrying to much about the budget. Second I would love to be able to help others that are in need….well let’s not make this a “world peace thing” but with me and my wife it’s not only about us but also about sharing with those who need it.
What has this all to do with making money online with blogs?
Besides the mug business I have been working with wordpress sites for some time now and I absolutly love the way it works. Before I build sites by hand using notepad and it took me days if not weeks to get a site the way I wanted it. In May when my wife was away I used two weeks to setup 80 sites running on Wordpress. If I wanted too it could have been more but I wanted to have the sites a good look and feel and took the time to each site header images and content. An example is http://www.fitnessapparatuurwinkel.info/ On average each sites makes me $0.20 a day. It doesn’t sound much but after the site was done I haven’t done anything to it anymore. They are more like sites then they are blogs but benefit from the features wordpress has. Using a Google Sitemap plugin, a ratingsystem, seo title and the overall structure makes a blog a highly optimized site for the search engines.
My Google Adsense earnings for May 2007 was US$ 736.51. I was shocked to see that brings me close to what John Chow made in June with Adsense 
But what I finall did was something he also says to do….spread the incomestream. I got accepted to TLA (and made $6 this month) I focused more on affiliateproducts from Maxbounty and Azoogleads. Promoted some local dutch affiliateprograms and my total non business income for May 2007 came close to $1700. June slipped a bit due to a drop in Adsense which was for June $ 526.76.
The whole month of June I have been programming in php and am trying to make an application that will automate and simplify the things I did in May. It’s coming soon and I called it WP Octopus. But first…I’ll go to Praque with my wife for a week…will be taking the laptop along tho as I can’t stop working on my new project. PS a great thing I heared today….If you don’t do something because you are afraid it might not work….guess what..it didn’t worked for sure. Only if you try and do something things will change
