Ok…yesterday i did some promotion on the site. I created 2 ads on USfreeads, bookmarked the site using onlywire.com and stumbled the site.

I had 92 visitors yesterday to this site. Mostly from stumbleupon. Also 4 people came thru my ads on USfreeads.

My main reason tho of posting on usfreeads and stumbleing it is to get Google and the other searchengines in. I haven’t seen the Googlebot but Yahooslurp has found the site and i hope it will revisit it today.

I haven’t made any money on this site yesterday but that is something i expect to happen at the end of this week or starting next week. Getting people from stumble upon is great to get things going but moneywise they are not buyers ..more surfers

I am building a lot of sites at this moment. I thought it might be a great idea to do a casestudy.
The Goal is taking a brand new site and make $2.00 a day from it.
to make it a bit more difficult …i want this result within 30 days.

I will post every day with the results and what i have done. I will not disclose the url as i also want to show you how many visitors i get on that new site. I registered the domain last week and i added the content last weekend. i haven’t done any promotion yet.

Yesterday there was some spider looking at the site. Awstats lists it has unknown spider so i have no idea where it’s coming from. Income is zero at this moment.

The site is a product site and not an nformation site. The products are pulled from the merchant site using a datafeed. In total the site has 14.000 pages. There no pages indexed in Google at this moment.

Today’s tasks:

* Place ads at USfreeads
* Interlink from other sites of mine
* submit to directories
* bookmark it at social bookmarking sites
* Stumble upon it

Usfreeads only works when you have a product related site. It’s owned by Google and gets a lot of Google Love. As this site is a product site i can freely place classified ads. I do have a premium account at them which costs me $9 a month but that amout i got back rather fast.

I have more sites in the same niche. So i am going to use those to get the first links and help to get the site spidered by the search engines. Plus as they are related o this site it will hopefully help in the rankings.

It looks like i have a long list of things to do but … there is something called automation. Some things should be dome by hand and others can be automated. Submitting to directories is old school SEO but it still works. Yes directories are getting their but kicked at the moment in terms of PR but they are still great places to get links with your desired keywords pointing in your direction. I use SEO elite (well my wife does that part of the work) and Lazy SEO. Lazy SEO is an automated subimission tool. For this site i will do the Lazy SEO first …

Social bookmarks are a great source of visitors and getting links to your site. I use Onlywire.com to bookmark sites in one click at 30 social bookmarking sites. Stumbleupon is an other favorite of mine. My experience is that i get about 100 - 200 vistors when i stumble a site. What i do is use a general category and tags and not to specific. Fi if the site is about golf courses in Florida i will tag the page with words like Golf, Florida, golf course, golf courses.

Seven small tips to gain more traffic to your site

1. Comment on blogs
Find the blogs that deal with the same topic as yours and post comments on them. Make it interesting and add value.
2. Bookmark sites
Use a service like onlywire.com to have your site bookmarked at 30 sites with the touch of 1 button.

3. Post on Forums
Ask and aswer questions. Use it wisely and do not spam your links. Two great sites that can help you track the right forums that are about your topic are www.findyourforum.com and www.bigboard.com

4. Create a video
There are several free tools that will help you to make a video even without having a camera. You can make video´s using photo´s with windows mavie maker which is standard installed if you have Windows XP. A free tool which can be used to record your screen activatie and publish it as a movie is Camstudio

5. Unique content
Should have been number 1…. if you create unique and good content you will get traffic as people refer to you

6. Buy links
It´s frowned upon by search engines but you can use a service like text link ads and buy links to your site.

7. Blog carnivals
Participate in a blogcarnival

(At Hostgator I even have 2 accounts as I do not want more then 100 sites at 1 account altho they offer unlimited)

I am building a membership site where you can download 50 new and fresh niche templates for wordpress each and every month. It’s part of a serie of sites and projects that I am doing but this one will be ready first.

WP Niche Templates will be build in line of my deblogging style. The sites will look like normall sites and not like blogs and I will mainly use graphics from stockexpert.com to maintain quality. But they will use Wordpress as a engine and thus benefit from the feautres Wordpress has to offer.

Having more then 1 domain and site is something that I advacate for a long time. Instead of thinking company minded you should think produkt minded if you are selling online.

Being specific and narrow down the niche of your site. It makes it easier to market if your website is fi about mountain bike holidays in south New Sealand then if you are making a site about traveling in general. But what if you also sell traking packages in New Sealand…would you include it in your mountainbike site or do you think it’s better to have a new site?

My advice would be …spend $8 and make a new site. As those are your sites I see no harm in interlinking the two. Now the best thing would be if the two sites are on different servers. Search engines give points to various things and having links from different places is one of them.

So what if you have 50 topics all about New Sealand traveling and each has enough info to justify a site. That would mean that if you set up a network on different servers it would cost you 50 times the hosting accounts and have a hard time handling all the details with ftp, stats and managing it all . So when a hostingcompany I used and highly recommand send me an email that they had a new service called seohosting I was intrigued and had to look.

Seohosting.com is a Hostgator division and they offer plans starting with 5 different c-classes for $35 a month upto 50 different c-classes for $ 237.50. On each c-class you can have as many domains as you want so if you want to build more networks of interlinking sites this is a great deal as it makes it easier to handle it all and is cheaper then having dozens of hostingaccounts for $10 a month.
Using this service means that you can build your network of sites having seo in mind

It’s been too long that I have done anything here at edynas.com but that didn’t ment that I wasn’t working. I made a promise to myself to make more posts here and altho it’s late and I am going away for a week tomorrow I just wanted to share something.

I have been working for myself for nearly 3 years and love the freedom it gave me. But I also work hard and I have to confess not smart….you see I still trade hours for money. My main business is making personalized mugs which we sell because of our website. I have no budget for ads and do not send out flyers, brochures or whatever. We only get customers because of our rankings in the search engines. It’s great but it’s not what we want as with many businesses we started out with something and from 1 thing came an other which let to our current situation…call it dreaming but what I have in mind is traveling a lot and seeing places all over the world without worrying to much about the budget. Second I would love to be able to help others that are in need….well let’s not make this a “world peace thing” but with me and my wife it’s not only about us but also about sharing with those who need it.

What has this all to do with making money online with blogs?
Besides the mug business I have been working with wordpress sites for some time now and I absolutly love the way it works. Before I build sites by hand using notepad and it took me days if not weeks to get a site the way I wanted it. In May when my wife was away I used two weeks to setup 80 sites running on Wordpress. If I wanted too it could have been more but I wanted to have the sites a good look and feel and took the time to each site header images and content. An example is http://www.fitnessapparatuurwinkel.info/ On average each sites makes me $0.20 a day. It doesn’t sound much but after the site was done I haven’t done anything to it anymore. They are more like sites then they are blogs but benefit from the features wordpress has. Using a Google Sitemap plugin, a ratingsystem, seo title and the overall structure makes a blog a highly optimized site for the search engines.

My Google Adsense earnings for May 2007 was US$ 736.51. I was shocked to see that brings me close to what John Chow made in June with Adsense But what I finall did was something he also says to do….spread the incomestream. I got accepted to TLA (and made $6 this month) I focused more on affiliateproducts from Maxbounty and Azoogleads. Promoted some local dutch affiliateprograms and my total non business income for May 2007 came close to $1700. June slipped a bit due to a drop in Adsense which was for June $ 526.76.

The whole month of June I have been programming in php and am trying to make an application that will automate and simplify the things I did in May. It’s coming soon and I called it WP Octopus. Do you know the feeling that you feel you are on to something but get a bit like “nahh couldn’t be that simple…I should buy a gazilion ebooks from all sorts of guru’s first and they should tell me it works” …well I wanna share something that I feel is going to be big and drasticly changing.
One of the things I did lately was buying some domainnames with the word video in it. And altho I am swamped with all the things I still want to do it is high on my priority list to get some content on them using a free program to record video’s from your screen. The plan is to demonstrate the order proces or filling in a form at a lead generation which in turn pays me money as I am an affiliate for them. Why?…Google has bought Youtube and now they changed the resultpage displaying video, images and books on the page. I haven’t seen it yet as google nethelands isn’t that far yet but it will come.

If you search for a term like mortgage application in “old Google” it will display 11 milion results…even with my squidoo experiment I do not dare to dream to come in the top 100 let alone be on the first page. But what if you take that same phrase and google-video it…it will return 51 results.
I must confess that it is something I knew already for a couple of months but not after the news that Google altered the resultspage it’s haunting me to get some video’s done.

It’s almost like being in 1998 again..start a website about a topic, follow some basic rules and you are almost garenteed to be in the first page of Altavista, hotbot or Yahoo (google wasn’t around back then as far as I remember)

A video is not something very difficult…it can be a powerpointpresentation or just some photo’s in sequence…after some video’s you will get the hang of it and it will become more easier.

There are too many keywords and I can’t make a video om them myself so this is why I thought I should share it with you as well as a kick in my but to get moving
